We had our 41st class reunion at this venue. From the get go Shaina McNally, event coordinator was on the ball! Immediate response from email or phone calls. Shaina was great at handling changes, even last minute ones and offering suggestions from prior experience. Shaina and the banquet staff were always polite, accommodating and friendly. Food was excellently prepared and presented thanks to Sue the chef! We had 1 hour of bar and hors d'oeuvre then a buffet dinner. Hot was hot and cold was cold and delicious! Venue was beautifully set up. If they do this well on a large function I think Shaina can handle any size group with grace and style. Definitely my go to place from now on! Great job guys!

They were amazing from the very beginning! I had my ceremony in the Tropical Courtyard, my reception in the ballroom, and our rehearsal dinner in the Laurel Room. Everything was so beautiful and elegant. They completely catered to me. They came and got me before the ceremony and walked me to where I needed to go and then during the reception they kept checking in to make sure everything was moving smoothly and if I needed anything from them. I absolutely loved them!

Just came back from the Altoona Grand Hotel after spending a week there for the 36th Annual National DeSoto Club convention. We can not say enough great to the extra gravy boats at the banquet dinner, not a single detail was missed. Lindsey, Shaina, Sue, and the entire hotel staff were so friendly, helpful, and easy to work with. if you are planning an event of any size., please consider this location. The convention planning committee was using the catch phase all week Altoona Awesome and everyone at the hotel truly is Altoona Awesome. The hotel has several for dining. We have the Laurel Room that offers free breakfast from 6:00 am to 10:00 am, and dinner from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. We also have The Grouse Nest a more relaxed lounge area to enjoy an afternoon. The Grouse Nest is open from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm from Monday-Friday, and 5:00 pm to 12:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday. But if you don’t want to dine at the hotel, there are plenty of resturants around the area like Outback Steakhouse, Applebess’s, Primanti Bro’s, and lots of other options.
